Understanding Allergies
Allergy is becoming more common. The number of people affected has risen dramatically since the early 1970s and it continues to increase. As many as one in three people in the UK now suffer from a medical problem caused by or associated with allergy. This increase has occurred because many of the factors thought to be responsible for causing allergies are related to the Western lifestyle, many of which seem to be especially potent in small children.
This book explains what happens in the body when an allergy occurs. It also describes the different ways of diagnosing allergy and discusses the different treatments available.
